Well, some real estate sites have a nice feature where you can choose to only see properties that would accept your furry friend. The number of pet-friendly hotels varies by region, making some parts of the country more popular with pet owners than others. With this in mind, we wanted to find out which states, towns, and cities have the largest percentages of pet-accepting rental properties.
Looking at the top 50 most populous cities in the US, we tracked the percentage of rental properties that also accept pets. Plus, we found the percentage of available rentals in each state that accepted renters with pets, revealing the best places in the country to live for pet owners.
We’ve also looked at how the UK compares, looking at the 50 largest towns and cities outside of London and looking at each of London’s boroughs individually to reveal which parts of the country are best for pet owners to let out. So, if you’re looking to move yourself and your beloved kitten into a new home, just read on, you might be opening cat food in a brand new apartment soon!

I am broadly interested in how human activities influence the ability of wildlife to persist in the modified environments that we create.
Specifically, my research investigates how the configuration and composition of landscapes influence the movement and population dynamics of forest birds. Both natural and human-derived fragmenting of habitat can influence where birds settle, how they access the resources they need to survive and reproduce, and these factors in turn affect population demographics. Most recently, I have been studying the ability of individuals to move through and utilize forested areas which have been modified through timber harvest as they seek out resources for the breeding and postfledging phases. As well I am working in collaboration with Parks Canada scientists to examine in the influence of high density moose populations on forest bird communities in Gros Morne National Park. Many of my projects are conducted in collaboration or consultation with representatives of industry and government agencies, seeking to improve the management and sustainability of natural resource extraction.
