Who can resist bacon?
One of the most delicious cured meats in the world! But did you know that bacon can be cured in two ways? Wet and dry. However, it’s dry curing that’s the best when the meat is rubbed with salt and flavorings. And yes, it’s irresistibly crispy when fried; it’s unlike wet-cured bacon, which gives off liquid when cooked.

Also, if you’re buying thin bacon slices rather than larger cuts, take note that there are three types of them, according to BBC Good Food. Back, which comes from the loin and is the leanest and most expensive; streaky, which comes from the belly and is indisputably the tastiest since it contains the most fat; and the middle, which is back and streaky bacon in a single cut. Meanwhile, bacon joints consist of collar from the pig’s shoulder, gammon from the hind leg, and hock from the front leg.
Frying bacon is certainly everyone’s favorite way of cooking this yummy cured meat! But, you ought to know that there are many ways you can enjoy bacon. Food Network presents 50 mouthwatering bacon recipes that you should try, like Quiche Bacon, Bacon-wrapped Scallops, Bacon-Beer Mussels, Pasta Frittata, Spaghetti Carbonara, and Bacon-Apple Pancakes. You can also dip your bacon in guacamole for an exotic taste of Mexico!

But hey, people are not the only beings in the universe who love bacon.
To Dobby, a senior chihuahua, bacon is just like the fountain of youth! Just the smell of it renews his energy and enthusiasm for life.
Today, he feels that burst of energy again after smelling what his fur mom is cooking in the kitchen. Bacon! He just can’t stop dancing and bouncing his hind legs in the air!
His mom, Zoe Kharasch, a senior pet rescuer with a dozen pets, including five old dogs, is so awed by Dobby’s reaction. She decided to share his delight with other bacon lovers on Tiktok!

Commenters can’t help falling for this spirited, senior chihuahua!

I am broadly interested in how human activities influence the ability of wildlife to persist in the modified environments that we create.
Specifically, my research investigates how the configuration and composition of landscapes influence the movement and population dynamics of forest birds. Both natural and human-derived fragmenting of habitat can influence where birds settle, how they access the resources they need to survive and reproduce, and these factors in turn affect population demographics. Most recently, I have been studying the ability of individuals to move through and utilize forested areas which have been modified through timber harvest as they seek out resources for the breeding and postfledging phases. As well I am working in collaboration with Parks Canada scientists to examine in the influence of high density moose populations on forest bird communities in Gros Morne National Park. Many of my projects are conducted in collaboration or consultation with representatives of industry and government agencies, seeking to improve the management and sustainability of natural resource extraction.
